Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, and professionally referred to under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. In the following year, her music was played throughout Dreamville. On December 8 it was announced that she was contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she sang alongside Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21 2016 she dropped her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017 and also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she guest-starred on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13, she released two additional singles, titled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019 a music video was released for the song. The track has received nearly three millions views on YouTube within its first week. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
