Selena
She was a performer, artist creator, performer and also set new boundaries in the music world. Her role as a Mexican American performer was conventional and modern. She brought Tejano to mainstream fame with her innovative approach. Like many times with a bright and genial star passes away in a hurry the tragic loss of her life has thrown her profile into a quagmire. People mourned the entire extent of its untapped potential. In the following years, fans were inspired to work even harder in order to ensure that her successes would not fade away. The tragic death of Selena by a gunman caused an outpouring of emotion in Latino communities, similar to those who reacted to the death of Elvis Presley and John Lennon's. The singer was extremely popular throughout Latino communities across North America her music crossed cultural boundaries to touch the lives of children and old alike. Selena was a sexy, flamboyant performer on stage who was sometimes called her as the Latina Madonna. Off-stage Selena was an excellent role model since she actively participated in antidrug and AIDS campaigning.
